Spring into Miami with Dedon Rayn Outdoor Living
Inspired by the poetry of Surrealism, so rich with paradox and possibility, Philippe Starck has dreamed up RAYN. A modular system of remarkable versatility, RAYN combines the comfort and sophistication of the world’s finest indoor systems with all the outdoor knowhow and barefoot luxury one expects from DEDON and perfect for South Florida
“The centerpiece of the garden,” says Starck, “RAYN was designed to bring pleasure not just to those lounging on it but to those around it.” This is as evident in the collection’s innovative new textile weave as in the asymmetrical beauty of its forms, accentuated by armrests so generously proportioned they double as side tables.
Criss-crossing horizontal ribbons of pale ecru fabric with vertical tubes of warm gray fabric, DEDON’s master weavers have covered RAYN’s powder-coated frame in an elegant new woven pattern that, looser and more open than usual for DEDON, brings out all of the rich, tonal variations in the fabric itself.
The result is an unprecedented combination of textures and materials — smooth powder-coating, a luxurious fabric weave and, for the cushion covers, a variety of the richest outdoor fabric ever created.
With its subtle Calico color scheme the Dedon Rayn Outdoor Living line the textile version of RAYN, specially treated for maximum Florida weatherability, is best suited for use on a covered terrace, under an awning or even indoors.
For those who want to arrange their RAYN around the pool or anywhere else under the open skies, DEDON has also created an all-fiber version that’s available in two color ways, the sepia-toned Veneto and light-grey melange of Salina.
All versions of RAYN come with what are surely the most comfortable cushions ever created for outdoor living in eater Palm Beach or Boca Raton. Developed in Italy by the world’s leading specialists for indoor seating, the cushions feature a special combination of foams that, firm and supportive in the lumbar region, gradually soften higher up the back.
A modular system comprising a wide array of typologies, from daybed to beach chair to footstools to coffee tables with tops of elegant, impact-resistant porcelain, RAYN can be configured to suit any setting — outdoors, indoors or somewhere in between!
Imagine your garden or terrace In Miami Beach as a room in which the ceiling has been replaced by sky, the walls by trees and the carpet by grass. All that’s left are a few pieces of furniture, including an iconic, timeless, incredibly comfortable couch.
